It's very easy to set up an obstacle course for your next slumber party. You don't need much, just some pillows or cones to swerve around, a table to crawl under, a long carpeted hallway (playing on slippery floor surfaces may cause injuries), an even number of people, and... you guessed it... sleeping bags. When you're setting u the obstacle course, make sure you have the exact same course on each side. No one will want to play if they don't have a 50/50 chance of winning. If you want to get creative, you could wave a flag or bandana like they do when a race is about to begin. This game really doesn't need too much supervision, but it's fun to set yourself up as the referee so that you can watch! Here are the rules:
The sleeping bag obstacle course can be played two ways. You can jump like a kangeroo through the entire course or you can inch through the course. We like to play this game like a run off. In other words, the first two kids run the course to determine the winner of that heat. Then the next heat, and so on, depending on how many kids are at the slumber party. Then all the individual heat winners compete against each othe in the same way until you come up with the ultimate winner. This game is a lot of fun and extremely silly... but the kids absolutely love it! One word of warning, however, you better have a pretty good prize for the winner. This game will wear the kids out! |
