That way you have plenty of time to get everything together and you don't feel all stressed out. We did our party invitations on the computer and printed them out as postcards. It was really easy and quick because we only had to put in the information one time (instead of writing it out on each invitation). We also liked that we could make the postcards look any way we wanted to match our theme (Cowboys). It was also cheaper than buying invitations. At our last party, I bought one of those personalized banners with my son's name on it and he absolutely loved it! He even has it hanging up in his room now as a constant reminder of how much fun his party was! Plan more games than you think you'll need.
