Start planning your party a month in advance. That way you have plenty of time to get everything together and you don't feel all stressed out.
We did our party invitations on the computer and printed them out as postcards. It was really easy and quick because we only had to put in the information one time (instead of writing it out on each invitation). We also liked that we could make the postcards look any way we wanted to match our theme (Cowboys). It was also cheaper than buying invitations.
Plan more games than you think you'll need.
Work out how much it is going to cost first before going to buy things.
If it's a boy's party, get more food thean you think you'll need.
Don't hang around the party too much if it's for teens.
Always ask your child no matter what, to get their idea about what THEY want to do for their party. You also have to keep in mind your child's age so meaning that you cant have a Piniata party for a 13 year old. Make the decision together so it suits your and your child's conditions.
At our last party, I bought one of those personalized banners with my son's name on it and he absolutely loved it! He even has it hanging up in his room now as a constant reminder of how much fun his party was!
