Children's birthday cakes are usually the highlight of most children's birthday parties. They are usually a focal point from the moment guests walk in the door until it's time to blow out the candles.

Children's birthday cakes are also the most fun to make, in my humble opinion, because they give you the opportunity to use the full extent of your creativity and create a little edible art!

At our house, we have a birthday cake tradition... my kids beg me to make them a special cake every year on their birthday whether they're having a large party with friend or an intimate party with just family. The birthday cake has become a crucial part of their birthdays (at least it's crucial to them).
